The only difference between the regular and dental macros is the extra scales on the lens barrel. They mean nothing to me, because I don't have the matching close up lenses and extension tubes. These little butterflies have invaded our garden lately. They seem to like the pansies best. This is a full frame shot with the lens set to 1/3 life size, camera in manual exposure and auto focus (snap-in-focus) modes. 1/1000 @ f/11, ISO 400, AWB. No PP except to export as a jpeg.

On a K10D or K20D -

(i) permit use of aperture ring under the customs functions page under the menu (its by default on)

(ii) use the camera in M mode

(iii) adjust aperture ring to desired aperture

(iv) press the green button (beside the shutter release button) to take a stopped down metering of the exposure to determine correct shutter speed

(v) press shutter to take picture

and voila! u need to try a bit to test it out tho.

For k100d, k200d - no idea. though since the k200d is similar to k10d, the same might apply.

Thanks, knyghtfall. I forgot to say I've got a K100D, which doesn't have a green button. The instructions in the manual aren't very clear, but I'll play around with your method and see what I can do. It's a good opportunity to make friends with the histogram.

Just substitute the AE-L button for the green button on the K100D.

Not bored in the slightest, seriously, you do great stuff with that 28. In fact,
I picked one up a little while ago for $40 from a local store here because of your
shots!

It truly does have great, rich, contrasty colors, colors as nice as anything
else in my bag. It might not be as blisteringly sharp as some other Taks,
but it's certainly sharp enough, and is about as sharp as my 16-50 @ 28mm.

and this was on the M 100 /2.8, before I sold it. It was a very good lens, but I got the VT 90mm/3.5, so one of them had to go.

with that lens, very nice. AML has done some great stuff with her 50 1.7 like that.

Knightfall, love the shots. The ropes-in-focus in that 100mm shot are pleasing,
and you show why the M 135 f/3.5 is one of my favorites. That looks like K20D
colors for sure, also

One of my first attempts using the Cactus V2s I just received from Marc. This could get to be fun:-).
