That's one from the vault!

....That is, the moldy crypt languishing in the bowels of Satan's house of wax. Those poor, innocent children! Forever trapped as pixelated grotesqueries behind a madman's monitor. I'll have to admit, though, that when I PP my pics, I find a fine line between "enhancing" the eyes by painting on a little brightness and totally falling off the photoshop cliff into the abyss of ridiculousness. I'm much more prone to the latter after I've stared at the same image for about 15 minutes, watching a gradual transformation. That's why I like to flip back to the original in the history palate to maintain perspective. May the angels of mercy watch over us...

John

That might be a good mini contest. Lets see who can take a photograph and make it look the most unnatural

If we do have that we should all start with the same base image, to keep things fair

And also the opposite. Take a dolls picture and make it look real

Stu You amaze me. Quite good thinking. But with the trouble I have been having lately in just getting a good focus maybe I should try PPing like this guy. At least I have an excuse, of being half blind.

But since the surgery things are getting a little more in focus. After seeing this thread I almost thought I was totally losing my sight. I just couldn't do any more then sit here and wonder if this was for real. Then my wife walked in and ask who the Hell, and why the hell would any one want to do that to their child. Then I knew I was really seeing crap and it might be fuzzy but it was still crap.

I'm not sure what's worse, the fact that they look like porcelain dolls after the "makeover" or the fact that these CHILDREN were wearing makeup before the digital mutilation.

Yeah, but those pageant judges must also have horrible taste for them to even consider those photos in their contests.

OMG!! That's seriously scary stuff! Touch up No.5!!! AH! Doll Eyes!

What I don't understand is Age Progression: "For children that have outgrown their photos"

Isn' that the point of portraits? To remember someone as they were?

I think they should all the parents should be tied to a chair and forced to watch the movie "Little Miss Sunshine". Maybe then they'll see how ridiculous they look.

Wow, how to convert your child to a zombie without resorting to Ritalin or TV.

Seriously though is this much different than a lot of the landscape images you see on Flickr etc. Punching up saturation, removing phone lines and doing a graduated blend in a landscape photo can look just as phony.(well maybe not quite so phony)

I recently bought a landscape photography magazine that had images that looked just as unnatural.
