Adobe releases Lens Profile Creator

It would be nice if we could establish our own repository of lens profiles:

From a DPReview news post:
QuoteQuote:
Adobe has posted a prerelease version of its Lens Profile Creator utility that enables creation of custom lens profiles for Photoshop CS5, ACR 6.1 and Lightroom 3. The process involves downloading and printing a checkerboard test chart from Adobe Labs, and shooting a series of RAW or non-RAW images. These can then be imported to the Lens Profile Creator to generate custom profiles for the Lens Correction feature in Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3. Furthermore, these profiles can also be shared via the company's user community.
You can download the Adobe Lens Profile Creator and the corresponding guide.

Hmmm... could be a neat way to get rid of the vignette thing with my Sigma 10-20.

The Sigma 10-20 profile is already included in ACR 6.1. No need to create your own profile for that one.

Yes, apparently Sigma collaborates with Adobe.

Adam offered to make user created lens profiles available through the lens reviews database. That would be fantastic but it relies on users sending him their profiles. Once we get some momentum going, Adam might even add a way for users to add their profiles themselves, but this is wild speculation.

I expect this topic to become a lot hotter once the final release of LR3 which can make use of lens profiles will be out (in July?).
