Aperture 3 new problem w/SL update

I'm using Aperture 3.03. In general it works great with my photos (K-7).

This week I updated to the new Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 Here's what happened.

JPEG images, no problem. RAW-DNG, no problem. But, when I click a RAW-PEF image, the "viewer" takes much longer while it says "Loading" and adds significant exposure to the image in the Viewer. It becomes very washed out.

The original image in the filmstrip looks unchanged. The difference in the image in the Viewer vs the filmstrip is remarkable.

Last night I took some shots in RAW-DNG, imported. No problem!

Any ideas?

Thanks

I just took a look at the photos taken by K-7 in my aperture 3.03. I didn't see any change from what I remembered. However, I couldn't verify if they were in Raw-Pef format. What's that? It only says RAW in Metadata.

The K-7 menu #4 has a selection "Raw File Format". Choices are "PEF" (Pentax) or "DNG" (Adobe).

In the Aperture File info, the file name will have a suffix with either PEF or DNG.
