Epson V350 troubles

hello,

i just purchased this scanner. Scanned photos are ok, but when i scan film, it`s terrible or wrong.
Scanned film is totally blured or useless. has anyone had such problem? what am i doing wrong? i am scanning ilford 400 as BW negative film. And in some cases it doesn`t even want to scan.
Scanner is absolutely new.

Stupid question, but are you using the supplied film holder? Have you checked your settings in the Epson driver?
