adobe lightroom 3

I have been using the pentax software for raw processing so far. Now I am thinking of purchasing adobe lightroom 3. Are there any other competing softwares I should consider for the windows platform?

Sorry about a basic question.

The Pentax software is very good. If you have a lot (thousands) of images you need to catalog and organize then LR is a worthwhile program. I have been using LR for a few years and I am using LR3 now. IT depends on your needs and future needs. Elements is a good buy if you plan on using some 3rd party plug-ins like Topaz DeNoise.

ACDSee Pro and DXO Optics Pro are both certainly worth a look. Capture One too.

If your not sure if LR3 is your cup of tea, you can always download it and try it for 30 days before purchasing.

After trialling lightroom, capture One, DxO Optics Pro and Bibble pro, I stil keep coming back to Silkypix. I think it handles the colours from the Pentax sensor better than the rest.
