More lens profiles with Lightroom 3.2 final

The final release of LR3.2 has added support for a number of Tamron lenses:

Pentax TAMRON 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 DiII A14P
Pentax TAMRON 18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 DiII A18P
Pentax TAMRON 28-200mm F/3.8-5.6 Di A031P
Pentax TAMRON 28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di A061P
Pentax TAMRON 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di A17P
Pentax TAMRON SP 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 DiII B001P
Pentax TAMRON SP 17-50mm F/2.8 DiII A16P
Pentax TAMRON SP 28-75mm F/2.8 Di A09P
Pentax TAMRON SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di A001P
Pentax TAMRON SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 272EP

There is a note stating
"NOTE: The Pentax, Tamron and Zeiss profiles are the result of collaboration between Adobe and the respective lens manufacturer."
How cool is that a profile has been made available for the discontinued Tamron 18-250? A great lens has become even more useful.

Anyone interested in further lens profiles for K-mount lenses should visit the https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/102344-wanted-...-profiles.html thread.

Cool. Good work Tamron and Adobe!

I guess after the extensive work Sigma did with Adobe to get all their lens profiles into LR3, Tamron couldn't be left behind.

Next, I hope Pentax steps up to the plate and does profiles for all it's non-645D lenses.

I just found out that the following lense profiles for samsung was released in Lightroom 3.2:

Samsung Samsung 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 OIS
Samsung Samsung 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED OIS

As i remember, it should be the same lenses as the pentax versions? Is that correct?
Because if thats the case, is should be possible to use these until Pentax releases som profiles.

'fraid not -- those profiles aren't for Samsung's GX-series cameras (ie. the K-mount compatible ones.) They're for Samsung NX-series (ie. the mirrorless, interchangeable lens models.)

Those lenses aren't related to Pentax, they're believed to have been produced by a Korean company called Optron-Tec.

The SMC PENTAX-DA 1:3.5-5.6 18-55mm AL WR (which is optically identical to the SMC PENTAX-DA 1:3.5-5.6 18-55mm AL II and SMC PENTAX-DA L 1:3.5-5.6 18-55mm AL) has already been profiled by a user. You can find that profile linked here:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-processing-articles/112707-adobe-len...troom-3-a.html

No profile for the SMC PENTAX-DA 1:4-5.6 50-200mm ED (or its DA-L and WR variants) yet, though, sadly. I'd love to see this one myself, as I own the 50-200 WR.

I'm new to Lightroom. Just downloaded the 3.2 update.
I can't find any Pentax profiles at all when I go to the lens profile box in the develop module.
Should they be there?
Am I missing something?

I just found this in another thread :

The difference between the SMC PENTAX-DA 1:3.5-5.6 18-55mm AL and AL II could affect the profile, as the optical formula is different (originally 12 elements in 9 groups, changed to 11 elements in 8 groups).

The WR version retains the same optical formula as the AL II.

The kit lens for the K-7 *should* be the WR version, but amoringello would likely need to confirm for sure that's the lens used. (I'm not familiar with the lcp format and whether we can confirm from the EXIF info used to create the profile...)
That was why i thought that it would not work correct, with the first version of the kit lens?

But i will give a try and allso have an eye out for new profiles

I have ticked enable profile corrections but the only lens that are in the list are: Apple, Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Sony, Tamron.

No Pentax at all.

Have you tried to go to Help and click "check for updates" just to be 100% shure its the latest you have?

I have tried everything i could think of, and i can not make Pentax disappear from the list.
Only think i could change was if i loaded a picture taken with my old Helios 44 objektive, then i could only choose between ACR and adobe standard in the Camera Profiles, no pentax 1.00 or Camera Standard.
No change to the Lens profiles

Unless you have installed custom-made profileshere won't be any Pentax lenses other then the ones for the 645D to chose from.

You can chose K-mount lenses from Sigma and Tamron, but Pentax didn't provide any K-mount lens profiles (yet?).

I wrote that post, and what I said stands. The AL II, WR, and DA-L versions of the lens are optically identical. The original (pre-2008) AL version is *not* optically identical to the other three, and that profile would hence be of no use for it.
