Program to check sensor for dust needed?

Hi folks,

I'm thinking of doing a small program to check if there is any dust on the sensor. Is there any need for this, or do people know sophisticated ways to do this?

greets mike

If your camera does not have the "dust detection" feature in the menu...

Shoot a white or light colored wall or clear blue sky at f11 or f16. The smaller aperture makes more dust visible.

Use the sensor cleaning mode to flip the sensor up and blow it out with a large Giotto Rocket blower.

There are many threads about dust and cleaning it in the Beginner's Section.

Well, I know how to do it ;-)

The question was merely if a dedicated program is needed to get reliable information where the dust sits out of such a shot.

I have attached a possible output of the filter (before cleaning the sensor ;-) ) Up to now it is just a filter an no program, I just don't want to spend time on it, if people already have good solutions finding the dust...
