[SOLVED]How to save RAW picture into JPEG in a quick way!

Hi,

My photographies are in RAW format (because better definitions) and for view them i'm using the PENTAX PHOTO Browser software!

When I selected all photos in PENTAX PHOTO Browser and I saved them into JPEG, the definition are not high! So, I take each photo one after one load into the PENTAX PHOTO Laboratory and save it into JPEG format.
My problem is for 500 photos and more I pass the all day long...

Also, has someone an Ideas or a solutions to transorm all RAW photos into JPEG in a one click and preserve the high resolution?

Tanks in advance

You could always do it from the start and shoot raw+!

Use dcraw.exe from the DOS box (windows) or dcraw executable from the terminal (Linux).

dcraw -e *.pef will churn out the embedded JPEGS of a full 4Gb card in a few seconds.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you select "Extract jpeg" in Pentax Photo Browser, the photos converted to jpeg will look exactly like they did on your screen before conversion. They will look exactly like they would have if you had shot in jpeg.

When you load your raw photos and look at them in PPB, you are not looking at a raw photo. There's no such thing as a raw photo, raw is just data, 0's and 1's. The photo on the screen has been interpreted for viewing by the browser. "Extract jpeg" uses the same algorithms as the browser to convert the photo.

You can select all of the photos in Pentax Photo Laboratory and save them as JPEGs all at the same time. There are options when you save for what level of JPEG you want to save to. Make sure you have your options set correctly.
