I'm in a predicament. I mostly make my money with contracts and paid shootings, etc. But now I've got pictures that I'd like to put online for people to view and be able to buy prints, etc. if they are interested.
So I've done a bit of googling and came up with fotki, smugmug, pbase, and others. And I did the trial on a smugmug account and it is just perfect for what I need, but the price is sooo high. I just don't think that I would have quite enough sales in a year to make up the $150 that smugmug charges.

So, does anyone know of any alternatives? What I have to have is:

1. image download protection
2. the ability to sell prints and digital images
3. my own custom domain name

Is there anything other than smugmug?

I use fotki, and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm not doing anything commercial, but I believe it has the features you mention. I haven't bothered to customize my website, but I know you can do that as well.

I chose fotki for the same reason you mentioned, it was a better bargain.

Or take a look at RedBubble.
Only you won't have your own custom domain name, but you can make your own gallery (which I was stupid enough to delete )
