Nik Software "Spot Healing" equivalent?

I'd really like to upgrade an old version of PS Elements to the new version mainly because of its Spot Healing Brush, but I'm wondering if any of the Nik Software plugins for Aperture might have a feature that does the same thing?

I'm confused: Aperture 3 has a healing brush-like tool called "repair." Why don't you use this?

I guess I should investigate how the Repair tool works. I've only ever used the cloning tool, but I would like a one-click solution like the Spot Healing Brush in PSE claims to be. Perhaps the Repair tool is just that. I'll check it out ...

Hi from Calgary,I don't know if you have watched any of Nik softwares daily webinars if not you should.I run CS5 ,LR3 and full suite of Nik software(except HDR) and as a busy pro into macro flora which I sell as 24x30 mounted prints and also female Portraiture, mainly as referral clients, would be lost without Nik,it cuts my editing time to minutes instead of plodding through CS5.As a pro it is something you should not be without.

I'm with kryss, Nik tools are real time savers and do a great job for most situations. I rarely use Photoshop as Aperture and Nik do what I need for most instances. But Nik tools don't have a healing brush, you'll need to use Photoshop or Aperture/lightroom for that.

Well I've used the Repair tool the past couple of days - thanks Miguel for pointing that out. It's a good complement/alternative to the cloning tool. Maybe it does what the Elements Spot Healing Brush does, maybe not, but I'm intrigued with the whole idea of clicking on something you don't want - a distracting foreground element, for example, like a tree branch - and having it disappear in one click and have the background automatically fixed. Is this what the Elements Spot Healing Brush does? If not, and it's no different from the Aperture Repair tool, then I won't bother getting Elements just for this feature. I hope I've explained better what I'm looking for this time.
