Showing my RAW (DNG) "as shot"

Hi!

I have an issue, maybe You have the answer for that....
When i taking my RAW (dng) photos using my K7 and importing inside Lightroom (same in DX0, Bible..), the photo will be changing based on a preset and all my previous camera based configurations (e.g. BW, VIVID) lost. I just wanted to get the "as shot" results (no any automatic intelligent preset-related conversion). Here are the samples: Shot in BW (capture-before.jpg), import result is non-wanted color (capture-after.jpg).

Any idea (i just saw the "as shot" option for the white-balance parameter?

Thanks in advance,

Akos

If you are shooting in a raw file format, then there are no effect applied to the file, its just straight sensor data. BW & Vivid and such are jpeg effects. If you want to retain those effects, you have to use the generated jpeg or apply the same b&w presets to the raw data in the pentax photo utility. You might also be able to extract the embedded jpeg from inside the raw file using some utility.

Szia!

Third party softwares disregard most of the camera settings and apply their own interpretation of the raw sensor data. If you want exactly the same result as the in-camera jpg settings then either just shoot JPG instead of raw or use the Pentax Digital Camera Utility to convert the raw file to JPG.

Or shoot RAW+ - you get two files per shot, one RAW which is just the, er, raw data, and one jpeg, which will have all the settings (b&w etc) applied.

I use this when I shoot things for the web - a small jpg, which is the one I usually use, but I still have the RAW in case the WB is a bit off or whatever.

In Lightroom, you can change this to your camera's settings in the Camera Calibration section under profile. The default profile is Adobe Standard. Your Pentax camera's profile should be on the list.
