Pentax Utility (newest 4.34V) running painfully SLOW on my Mac

I was finally able to install the utility software on my Mac (thanks to boriscleto) and updated to the latest V4.34. However, the software is running extremely slow in laboratory and the IQ in the browser is really crappy. My Mac has 4GB Ram, 1TB hard drive and runs on X10.6 OS. Any comment and suggestion is most appreciated.

Try restarting your Mac and running it without any other apps open. I have a 2.0GHz Mac mini with 8GB of RAM and I find it slow when trying to deal with folders with more than a few photos. It's not a very good program.

just a bump on this thread....i have windows xp and windows vista.....and both run V4.33 quite oddly....it looks like it stutters. running V4.34 isn't any better. i downgraded to V4.31 on my overclocked core 2 quad q9550 (running at 3.8GHz + 8Gb of ram, this is the Vista 64 bit rig). 4.31 i actually can use quite well....just wondering if anyone knows why PDCU 4.34 runs oddly......

I'm gonna give this thread some action as well because I installed it the other night (right click on CD>Show Contents...) and then had to update it straight away due to it crashing.

But yeah I can't even work with the program it's sooooo slow! I'll try a restart and make sure nothing else is running, but suffice it to say I'm glad I bought LR!

I will say though that PDCU does do a great job with white balance, problem is I don't have all night to balance images lol

Well when I eventually transition over to Windows I'll give it another shot.
