RAW browser

Is there a software on linux that can be used for browsing RAW files. I mean without all the editing options.
Just like we do with jpegs. This way I can move through the files quickly and delete unwanted ones.

Any ideas?

For Macs, the Finder will open raw files. I think Windows Explorer will, too. If not Picasa is free.

Upon my search I found out that I can install picasa on linux to integrate with the system. Even though I will be using wine.

digiKam works very well as a viewer. Just set it to show a preview when clicking on a thumbnail instead of Starting the Image Editor directly.

Settings > Configure digiKam > Album View > Thumbnail click action.

Ctrl + Shift + F gives you the full screen view.

There is also the "Light Table" option which allows you to compare two images side by side. By the way, digiKam's slideshow options are great too.

Update.
I have installed picasa and digikam. Even though picasa is good I will say digikam is better.

Just so you know, for those of you using gnome, digikam is kde, so for it to work a whole lot of libraries will be installed. Not that it matters but it required over 300Mb of space. Anyway is it no problem for me at all since I dont lack space.

Good for you. Nice find, eh?

What version of digiKam are you running? I am running digiKam 2.2.0 in OpenSuse 12.1 and it is quit a bit improved from the 1.x days.

Yeah. I think I like it quite much. I am still learning the quirks of it.
I have actually not checked, but my guess is that it is 2.2.0. I just installed straight from CLI.

Have you used Raw Therapee? Because that get mentioned a lot but you hardly hear of digikam. Is it possible there is some difference in the use?
