Winter - chromatic abberations

Hi,
1.I've done some winter shots with my K100D and it's kit lens and I got some very abvious chromatic aberrations which annoy me very much.
Please, how should I set my aperture, shutter speed and stuff in order not to get that. I try and remove them in Silkypix but still something remains.
2. I'm shooting night photography. Sometimes I get in the dark place some black pixels which don't really resemble to pixels. It's like a "dead" portion of the photo, but the entire photo seams OK. I think it is because of lack of light, but If I get more light, I lose highlight information.
Help me out..thanks..

Is it chromatic abberation? You should post a sample.

I'm having a brain meltdown but I've found times where shooting certain high-contrast scenes (like a waterfall in midday sun shot at 1/2000 sec to stop the drops) that I get purple fringing near the highlights on the water droplets. I read something months ago that this isn't the normal definition of CA, it's more due to sensor/interpolation limitations in digital cameras because in side-by-side pixels one is blown out and the other is not, and they somehow get interpolated to create that purple fringing.

As far as the other question, again, post a sample. Sometimes though with night scenes, you just have to choose what you want to have detail in and live with it. (or bracket and combine exposures if you must)

Typically CA can be eliminated by stopping down the lens.. F8 etc..
