K-7 software

I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this, but...

I bought a used k-7, my first move into digital SLR, have read (and still read) the instructions, have updated firmware, but I wonder if I need the cd-rom that didn't come with this copy. Is it necessary for anything or should I just use substitute software that is out there? I seem to be doing okay without it. If I need it, what is the best way to get it? Thanks.

I could not find the software on that page...

There is another thread somewhere here about faking out the software to load without the CD.

However, there is a ton of options out there, free or not. PDCU is not known for being user-friendly. I was not fond of it when it was PPL 3.50, so I went with Elements that, at the time, had a couple tools I needed that Pentax did not. I still use PDCU for file handling, but not for conversions.

k-7 software

Thanks! I have been using others, but thought there might be something worthwhile or unique with original software.
