restoration of 1970's image

I was asked to try to fix this image it was emailed to me,it is of the clients late father and plane he built in a back yard in South Africa in the 70's. I was asked if I could add some colour, the plane had red decals and her father ginger hair. badly watermarkedon the belt / treeline / cockpit / skyline. taken it looks like in the miday sun and a tad over exposed.

my efforts at this is attached.below this picture comments welcomed.

you could probably do a pretty alright job in photoshop I'm sure.

Hello,

you do a good job.
Colors looks like to be 1970's colors.
Beware the ghost effect at the head of the people.
The photo need better area selection, the red decals seems to me to be too 'rounded'.
It's a good begining, need only a bit more pratice to be better.
