Missing Driver

Ok guys as I mentioned in my introduction thread, I am an owner of Pentax Optio 330.

Lately I had to upgrade several computres to Windows 7 and it does not want to install the camera onto computer automatically.

I tried researching online but appearantly there is no compatible driver for my model with Windows 7.

Its 32 bit Windows 7 if that helps.

I can easily buy a memory slot (but thats more than what I am willing to spend on old camera) or buy new camera all together, but my Pentax holds sentimental value to me.

Regards and suggestions are appreciated.
Gabe

You shouldn't need any drivers. Just plug in the camera to a USB port, open my computer and it should show as a removable storage drive.

Alternately, you can pick up a card reader that plugs into a usb port, for about $5. I find that less hassle than cabling my cameras.

A quick search reveals a number of Optio 330 owners searching for a USB driver that works with Windows 7 both 32 bit and 64 bit. It does not seem to exist and the only solution offered is to buy a card reader. The camera is over 10 years old and if it were me I would retire it and get something a little more modern. But if you want to keep it then a card reader is the only answer. Here is a link to one that costs less than $7. I am not recommending it, just an example, and you really should get one that covers all types of cards not just CF but you noted you did not want to spend a lot, so here is the cheap solution. Just do a search for "Compact Flash USB reader".
