My Canon Pixma MG6120 needs cartridges.

Need a link to a good source of quality generic inkjet cartridges.

Thanks,

I've used these folks for my general printers. Bought through Amazon.

Welcome to inkusa.com - Ink Refill Kits, InkJet Cartridges, Printer Products, and accessories

they work well on i960 and ip4700 for general printing. I do have to disable ink monitoring on the ip4700.
I have printed 4x6 prints and they are OK.

All this being said....I only use Canon Ink on my Pro 9000. Internet research leads me to believe that for highest quality
output, use the manufacturer's inks.

I have 2 Canon Promark 9500II printers. I switched over the Image Specialist's ink Image Specialists about 8 months ago in one of them. The first thing I did was print out 3 sets of 5 13" x 19" prints with both inks. I hung them in the south west window of my workshop (not controlled for humidity and I build custom furniture and spray stains and lacquer). The factory inks are printed on factory paper and the IS inks are printed on Red River stock. Both are curling up pretty good right now after the summer humidity.

I'm still using Canon ink in one. I wont make a decision until after the 1 year, but looking at the current results I think I will be switching over to IS inks in both printers.

For dye based inks OCP produces excellent products that are very popular among some Canon users.

Canon is not a chemical company or an ink company. They outsource all paper and ink and have it private labeled. By using a custom ICC you can match the Canon inks close enough that nobody will notice..... if you care to match it. I don't care if it is an exact match for Canon. I just care that my prints match what is on my screen and produces the desired image. There is nothing magical about the stock Canon or Epson color profiles.

This is who I buy my IS inks from, but I am refilling as the 9500II is amazingly fast and simple to refill.

Canon CISS

For 3rd party carts I hear good things about this supplier.

I have been hesitant to buy pre-filled generic carts, but that is just a personal preference. For the cost of 2 carts you can buy a set of refillable carts and enough ink to print 20x as much. It has made printing cheap enough that I can sit down with people and have 20+ proofs printed A3+.
