I'll be getting a K-5 II next week. Will test with a Kindle Fire (if even possible) and possibly some other tablets.

Looks awesome c-meier! Reminds me of that DSLR-controller for Canon.

If you need some specific tested: I have some android devices (Galaxy S2, Galaxy Tab P7510 and probably my wife's HTC One X) that I can use to test and I know how to logcat
Thank you. No, right now, I don't need any technical tests... the list of known bugs is long enough as it is. If you get around to running it on your S2, I'd like to know your opinion on the UI, though. My android device is a 1024x600 "netbook", and I wonder how the look and feel is on a smaller, touch-operated display.

Well, I've taken two screenshots of how it looks on the SII (800x480). The portrait version looks clean, but in landscape the text gets a bit squished. The left part is scrollable though

Unfortunately, as soon as I plug my K-5 in, the app crashes. You're probably aware of this, but here's the crash line for save measure:

Code:

04-20 09:55:59.453 V/Triggercord(20528): Starting to update camera.

Hope it helps!

Is there an updated version of this yet? I am very interested in testing it out. Thanks.

Bad news: my Android device (an old netbook I had repurposed) completely stopped working, so there won't be much development on this in the near future. If at some point I get a tablet or change my phone for one with USB host support, I will continue working on this.

I don't own any iDevices either, and I suspect it would be much more difficult, since it's not Linux-based, like Android. Most of Triggercords functionality is a direct port of pkTriggercord, a linux program.

hi C-Meier,

I tried your android app and was really amazed by it. Thanks a lot.
Is it possible to update the pktriggercord version of it?

Thanks!

Hey, mamonmon. I no longer own a Android device with USB host mode, so currently I can't test it or further develop it. The git repository is a fork from the original svn, though, so it shouldn't be too hard to keep them in sync, if someone wants to pick up where I left.

USB cable tethering from Android: It works for my K5

Hi,

I have a Nexus 7 model 2012 which has USB host mode when used with an USB OTG cable.
I have compiled the latest version from your git repository and it works seemingly well with my K-5.

I could probably update the pktrigger part to the latest and I have also another ideea (and a specific need, as my K-5's memory card slot is broken): introducing a mode where it works as a replacement for the storage only, letting all settings and shooting to be done from the camera itself as usual - the way "pktriggercord-cli --noshutter" works.

Why didn't you put it into the google play store? It would have been nice to be able to download it from there. There are more people that use Pentax cameras and could benefit from tethering to Android tablet than people who also know how to install the dev environment and compile the thing.

Not sure if you're still around, but I am trying to find the source code for this.
