A follow up: the latest version of Bracketeer for Mac (3.0) can also automatically align a stick of hand-held auto-brackets to some degree. This shouldn't be used for stitched panoramas, since the misalignments they can have is not just translation or rotation, which is what the alignment algorithm corrects for.

EnFuse is a really neat tool. Thanks a ton for tipping us off. I downloaded it (and the EnFuse GUI) and they both work superbly.
