CS3 & PC Speed

Have recently noticed the speed of my PC nearly comming to a grinding halt when using CS3 along with bridge and trying to reduce file size from say 29meg to small file sizes fior the web..
Anything i can do to overcome this ??, maybe re-organising preferences etc..
Know as i update my AVG updates it seems to have grown slower??..Whether this has anything to do with it or not??,arent sure..
maybe i need more ram??..
Cheers and all help greatly appreciated..

Well your current specs would be greatly helpful in figuring out what the problem is!
Do you have lots of brushes\styles\fonts\etc in CS3? Those slow down start up time a lot.
How full is your hardrive?
Do you use another harddrive as a scratch disc for CS3?
How much RAM are you giving CS3?
Do you regulary scan your pc for viruses\spyware?
Have you given your registry a cleanout recently?
Those are just some starting points to check out.

Thanks
