Pantone Huey Pro Issues - USB 3.0?

Hello all,
I have used a Pantone Huey Pro for calibration for a number of years now, and while not perfect it is not bad.

I recently upgraded my laptop to a Lenovo U410, running win 7, 64 bit. This has 2x USB 2.0, and 2x USB 3.0 ports.

I'm having problems when I plug in the sensor for periodic calibration of either the inbuilt LCD, or a TV LCD I am using (via HDMI). Either it isn't recognised, or it starts calibrating, then quickly dashes through the swatches in less than a second and gives me a calibration error.

Anybody else seen this? I believe it may be due to the USB 3 controller, but i'm not sure.

Sounds silly, but can you try a different cable? Might not be possible, I know... my Spyder has a built-in cable. Some controllers just don't like some cables, particularly old ones.

Apparently (not around here though) a known issue.
The power delivered from the USB controller is insufficient to power the Huey: Here if interested.
I'll try a powered USB hub as suggested.

I missed your response. Yeah, looks like the cable/ USB controller. This Huey is actually a replacement (under warranty) for the original one shipped due to a bad cable in the first place.

Darn laptops trying to save energy... Like they run on batteries or something?

Glad you got it sorted!
