The answer to VISTA and Remote Assist. issue

[QUOTE=tpeace;195177]I tried tethering my camera via the PC-USB connection to my Laptop (Running Vista) but the Remote Assistant software (v3.5) doesn't seem to recognize the camera. (tried with both my K20 and K10).

All I did was right click on the shortcut for remote assistant and chose "run as administrator" and had no further issues. Done deal for me after that!

The CD comes with the K20D as well as the K10D. I used it recently and I can trigger from the camera. Some nice features. The only problem is having to save after each image is taken. I am trying to figure out if it has an auto save function. I have to use an assistant to press save each time the image comes up on the screen. It would also be cool if you could save to the card as well as the computer.

I don't understand. I have the choice to "save", "buffer" or "auto save", so why you can't is a bit curious. I just thought I'd mention that it's in the menu on top, not in options.

Something tells me the Remote Assistant doesn't work with a K100D.
It does, it's just a bit spotty, and not supported by Pentax. I tried last year, and I was able to use version 1 or 1.5 (not sure about the exact version, but it wasn't version 2).

I dont have the original disk of K100d. The camera was sitting in the shelf for a long time. Now I wish to connect the camera to a laptop and start shooting (for a specific purpose). I prefer to shoot from the camera and have pictures delivered straight to the PC.
Is this possible.
I dont have original disk with me.
What are the options?
I am splitting hair over the last few days searching for answer allover the net.

As far as I know, remote assistant is only for the higher class models : *istD, K10D and K20D

I've been able to press the shutter on the camera and have it work on PRA 3.

Remote Assistant greyed out

I installed Remote Assistant 3.5 in a Window 7 desktop. The control buttons are greyed out even after plugging in the K20D, therefore, I could not do anything! The camera's top LCD displayed "PC." Did I missed anything or did anything wrong? Please help.

Try opening the program by right clicking on the Icon and choosing run as administrator. It usually fixes this issue.

RA Problem

I have a K10D, the Remote Assistant (v3.51, winXP) RECOGNIZE, COMMANDS the camera, but NO IMAGE IS TRANSFERED ;-((

So there is no picture in "viewfinder display", or in auto save folder... (only on the SD card)

Any ideas, anyone with the same problem?

Thanks
