What´s the big difference with DxO 9 which seems to be the current release?

I think the difference between 6 and 9 is huge.
As far as I know, 9 has brush and layer.
I spent a few hours with 6 and my gut feel is not worth to continue.

I am thinking either LR5 or DxO 9 and I am still researching.
