HUGE image size with HDR

Hi guys!
I tried tonight for the first time making an HDR image out of 3 images, average size 10MB each. Used Nik's Software and CS6.
The pic itself came out pretty nice, i did like it, but there was one odd thing - suddenly it became 741 MB in size...
Maybe here is anyone, who could explain what i did wrong, or it's actually what happens every time, when making an HDR image?
Thanks in advance guys!
Misha

That or it is still in the HDR file format like an .EXR

JPG output is Lossy... thats how you get a file that is nearly a Gig and it gets compressed down to 5 MB... I suspect you "Saved" the file, and didnt "output" the file... depending on your software the terminology is different but the result is the same... big file that cant be opened by anything.

Hi. When I do HDR panoramics with hdr efex pro the files are large .tiff files. When I'm done I export my files to my desktop with LR5 which converts automatically to jpeg. Alternatively if you don't have LR5 google's picassa3 does the same thing and its free software.
