Wifi sd card

My new K3 came with a wifi card, and that was great. I have recorded photos no problem,of course. But, wha t is the next step? I know, I am no `expert on computer expert, far from it. But I just dont get how the wifi is effected. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hmmm, is there a place in the menus for you to turn on the WiFi of the card & detect a network to connect to to send pictures to say your phone? Or pc?

Do you have a WIFI card? If it came with the camera it is probably not WIFI. If you are sure it is a wifi card put it in Slot 2 go to the tools menu (wrench icon), #3 has an item which activates the wifi card. Pentax has promised a dedicated, feature-rich card but so far it is not available. Other cards (Eye-fi, Transcend) which are wifi are available but they are relatively expensive and of little value for most uses. The K-3 does not have wifi ability w/o a wifi sd card.

A lot of Australian K-3's came bundled with a 8GB 'FluCard Pro' WiFi card. This is a standard WiFi card, not the fancy Pentax specific model with remote control etc, which is due to be released sometime in 2014.

Like Bramela, I haven't found a use for mine either. It just sits in it's box. I need some ideas.

I prefer to use a device like the Cerevo Liveshell which also streams video on the internet without any PC

I placed my Flucard in slot#2 with a regular SD card in slot#1 and set the camera to RAW+, with RAW on SD1 and JPEG on SD2, specifically so I could look at the JPEG output straight away on my tablet. So far, I haven't got in the habit of doing that, but I haven't had that much time to seriously use my K-3, as yet.

I'm sort of convinced that it's half way kind of gimmicky. Second generation usually sorts out all kinds of issues.
