Free Cloud Storage Referral - Copy.com (like Dropbox but better)

Hey - I just posted this in another thread and realize I should just spread the love around here in its own thread.

I started using Copy.com about 6months ago and love it. It's like Dropbox but I like the layout better and I seem to get faster sync speeds.
Plus the free version starts you off with 15gb if you create an account regularly, or 20gb if you use an account referral like this one:

Copy.com Account Referral Bonus - 20GB

You have to do these steps to get the bonus space:
a) sign up with that link, and make sure you click the email verify in the message they send
b) download and install the desktop or mobile app and finally
c) SIGN IN to the desktop or mobile app with your new account

The bonus referral is two-way so I get a bump to, and once you've signed up you can send out referrals to anyone you like to do the same. It's like a pyramid scheme that doesn't suck! Don't know how long they'll keep this going but it's pretty darn worth it - there's no cap to extra space you get from referrals, at least for now!

I use it as a main export folder for LightRoom, so that all my processed photos are backedup at all times without me having to even think about it. Works out pretty dang well!

Help me help you help me!

update - there's also a mobile app you can download and install if you don't need/want the desktop app.
you have to install one of these and sign in through it to get the bonus space though. once you're logged into
the site with your account, you download the software at the link from the main menu, like so:

Size: 36.2 KB

Daz about it.

Yeah it is! I've been really happy with it. Also I forgot to mention, even better, they don't calculate shared storage the same as Dropbox - it's split between the number of people sharing, e.g. if you've got a 3gb folder shared between 3 people it only counts as 1gb against your quota. Makes way more sense.

Make sure y'all do all the steps (A,B,C) above or you won't get the extra 5gb.

What do these companies get out of it? I can never understand how they make money.

Well Copy is owned by Barracuda Networks (part of the reason I looked at it closely to begin with) so they've got plenty of money (and storage). I'm sure corporate subscriptions play a role.

Looks like they have finally put a cap on this deal at 25gb for bonus space. I won't get anything more but if you still haven't tried it it's still well worth a look. Even without the bonus space it puts Dropbox to shame in every way.

Copy was a life saver for me when Dropbox ended the special HTC promotion I got with my phone two years ago. I had to move 15 gb and copy worked like a charm. Since Chickentender is maxed out please try to use my link https://copy.com?r=feZmMn since I can still use the extra storage. Thanks.
