Apple Aperture and Pentax K-3 RAW HDR

When I use in-camera HDR on my Pentax K-3 (DNG RAW) and import into Apple Aperture, I can only see one of the constituent images, not the HDR combination. The file however is three times bigger than usual, so it seems all three parts are there. The preview on the K-3's screen certainly shows the HDR combination was made. Also, for a few seconds after import, Aperture does show the correct HDR image, presumably the embedded jpeg from the camera before Aperture has time to make its own.

Does anyone have any idea how to get Aperture to recognize the extra information it has in the combined RAW file?

Reporting that same problem here while I shoot PEF for in-camera HDR. May be there are really a lot of changes in the new RAW file, hope Pentax & Apple could work it out soon... Also, solving the problems of the focus information, Lens information, cheap lens distortion correction in RAW.

I use Pentax K-3 HDR auto +/- 3 EV, I have set DNG raw, result is one cca 90mb DNG file, when opened in Adobe Camera Raw, it is just one file with very high dynamic range:

look at the windows !!!

difference in the exposure between outside and inside was huge

Interesting. How did you do that? When I opened a DNG HDR file using Photoshop (ACR 8.3) it didn't give me the merged HDR image, just one of the three (like Aperture). Updated to ACR 8.4; no change.

By the way, these files are handled correctly by the Digital Camera Utility 5 software that ships with the camera.
