I'm sure Silky Pix gets paid by Pentax, Panasonic and every other manufacturer who includes their editing software in their camera bundle so there's no reason to not to make it a bit more user friendly.
Nikon even use it now in their new (and freely downloadable) Capture NX-D software RAW processor. But it looks like Nikon worked a LOT with Silkypix to modify/improve the user interface.

Perhaps Ricoh needs to follow the same path as Nikon did - put out a beta PDCU upgrade, seek user input, rework the UI and other features, then release it as PDCU 6.0.

I found no file editing features. I have the 5.0 that came in the box with the K-3. Does it serve any purpose? Ok what software are folks using and getting the most out of the K-3 images?
I've never bothered with anything on the CD's software-wise. I'm a total Photoshop snob. Anything else is just redundant. :P

The software that came with my K-5 was too unstable and buggy to use. Too many crashes. I settled on LightRoom because it can catalog as well as process. Corel Aftershot was similar but had a bug that caused magenta highlights in images (I think that bug has since been fixed).

SilkyPix is 117 Euro for Pentax users.
That's not cheap. That's twice as much as Lightroom has ever cost me. Silkypix doesn't even seem to have an American website or reseller.

If you are one of the 3 people in the world who have invested the time to learn to use it, I hear it does a good job with Pentax colors. Its slow, awful UI, and worth what you pay for it.

....to make it even more clunky and awkward.
