Show Focus Points LR plugin

Show Focus Points is a free new Lightroom plugin that shows the active focus points at the time of image capture. Available only for Canon and Nikon at first.

I've been wanting this capability in LR for some time now. Yahoo!

Looks handy. No Pentax support (yet?), however.

I miss PhotoMe. It does this very well for Pentaxes up until the K-5, I think.

Apple Aperture (cupidum rerum memoriae) did this for the K5, but it broke for the K3. Very handy.

This is certainly one of the most useful little add-on utilities I've run across.

Provides me with excellent feedback for handholding a somewhat heavy super-tele like this Tamron 150-600mm on the cropped sensor 7D. I configured the AF to use a + shape with 5 active focal cross-type focal points which can be manually moved among the 19 total. This shows me that I was pretty lucky (or good ) with nailing the goldfinch in the red point outline from about 30 meters. Most of the shots were not so spot-on. It's taken me a few thousand shots spread over two months for my technique to improve using this lens and camera combo. I've been using a monopod more frequently which can help too.

I also like the listing above of upper and lower focus distances. Hopefully a Pentax version will be available soon.

I thought the Pentax Camera Utility could do this sort of thing too, although it's not as visual. Of course, it's slow and clunky, so...
