Lightroom 4 - Can no longer "import" images ...

Hi,

Do not know if this has been asked before, but my LR4 is giving me problems.

Every time that I try to upload ("import") an image, the program shuts down.

I have tried different SD cards (and even without a card in the laptop), but I always get the same error message and then a shut down.

Any suggestions and thanks in advance. Cheers, J

What computer OS have you?
Did anything change with your computer or your operating system recently?
Have you used an external card reader as maybe your internal one is problematic? Copy over a single image from the SD card to your desktop. Then try to import that image.

Do an integrity check on your catalog -- something sounds corrupted. If the program itself is corrupted, download last LR4 update and reinstall it:

Windows:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows

Mac:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh

Bonjour M,

I have Windows 8 (which i hate) on the laptop and nothing has changed to my knowledge, except that my daughter downloaded a unwanted program recently.

I tried all your suggestions and then uploaded Lr4.4.1 as par vonB's suggestion ... thanks again for your input, J

I did not have Lr4.4.1 update so I downloaded/installed it and all seems OK now.

Thanks again. I did not know that the ".1" version existed. Happy camper now.
