Software for correcting nonlinear lens distortion

This is not Pentax, of course My K3 is just great...

This is for a Samsung S6 phone whose camera, while being nothing as good as the discontinued and much less usable Nokia 808, is the best of all smartphones currently out.

The camera distorts, but only near the left edge. The image gets stretched left to right. It's hard to explain but if you took a photo of a building with windows, the windows near the left edge will be wider. The right edge seems OK! Vertically it is fine. The stretch reaches about 20% and is very noticeable on faces which are way too wide. Obviously on natural landscapes you don't really see it. It also happens only at certain focal lengths; not on close-up and not (as far as I can tell) on short distance.

Is there a plug-in (or a method) for Photoshop CS3 which could be used to correct this? I have various plug-ins including the Topaz ones but they all seem to do just predefined standard distortions like barrel, pincushion, etc.

Create a custom lens profile with the tool from Adobe (lens profile creator or somesuch).
You'll shoot a lot of checkerboards but you'll get there easily enough - more so since it's a fixed focal length camera (dunno if the aperture is fixed as well, even less work).

Adobe has some phone profiles in Lightroom but not Samsung (yet). This is what I would do. It might take a bit of work but it's better than doing distortion corrections on every shot.

I use PTLens (standalone or plugin), you can send tests to the author and include your profile to next database
