Odd Artifact in JPG vs DNG

I was shooting with the K50 and decided to go ahead and download both the RAW and JPEGs for a change, just to see the difference in some particular shots. I always shoot in RAW, so never looked at them side by side with the JPEG version.

Lo and behold, on loupe view in Lightroom, I noticed tiny white dots in the JPEGS that aren't in the RAW versions. It's consistent throughout the shoot, with various shots around the river.

I printed the screen with both zoomed versions. The top is RAW, bottom is JPEG. See the little white dots in the right of the shot, one in the mountains and one in the trees? They almost look like empty pixels. Ignore the white dot at the bottom of the screen on top of the house... that's actually a light in the landscape. The lens was an 18-55, though I don't see any relevance there. It's clearly a difference in RAW/JPEG.

Has anyone seen this before? I'd be interested to hear what you know about it.

Those looks like hot pixels that have been mapped out in the RAW file.

I have seen this issue with long exposures as well.

Thanks for the info. I just googled this and found out more. Hoping it will be of limited concern.
