Even Lightroom 6 needs to contact Adobe periodically to stay activated. I think it is unfortunate that Adobe decided to use the Cloud buzzword in the name as it makes people think you need to be connected to the Cloud to use it.

Adobe led me to think that, which is why i still use LR5.
