Lightroom Error Problems

Have not been able to open Lightroom for sometime an error comes up and will not open?

(Error reads) Lightrom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit.

Lghtroom will attempt to fix this problem the next time it launches.

I have tried to reboot with no luck, so any help would be grateful!

Sorry, I have the 5.7 version Lightroom

Have you tried restoring your catalogue from the latest backup?
