RAW editing in Bridge?

I'm new to all this, so bear with me if this too basic a question, but if I shoot a RAW image, open/edit it in Bridge CS3 then open it in PS (either as a copy for nondesctuctive work or as the original), am I missing a range of editing features I could use at the RAW stage (pre-Photoshop) that I would get with a different (stand-alone) RAW editor?

You aren't missing anything. When you open a RAW file in Bridge, it uses the very same RAW converter that PS uses if you open it directly from PS (Adobe Camera Raw).

What Dave said. When you open a RAW file in either Ps or Bridge you are actually opening it in a plugin called Adobe Camera Raw, or ACR, which is a dedicated RAW processor. Also, when you move to Ps from ACR you are always using a copy that is non-destructive to the original. It may look like you are working on the original, but Ps won't let you save over the original RAW, you have to "save as" to a new file.

Thanks, guys, that saves me the cost of Lightroom or some other RAW processor.

In fact, Bridge, Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom all use ACR so you get the same results with either one.
