Help with DCU 5 utility from a Newbie

I just received my K1, and I am looking forward to using it when I get some lenses but I am trying to learn basics in the meantime. I was wondering how to get the DCU 5 file that came on a disc with the camera because I do not have a drive on my computer. They only have the DCU 5 update on the Ricoh site, and I did download that but does not work unless you have the original DCU 5 file.
I am coming from a Sony A7 FF camera that I killed when I dropped it in a brook; so I did some research on camera systems because I do not feel the Sony's are weatherproof enough to use outside.

If you are using a Windows PC do you have a "thumb" drive, and SD card reader or other removable USB drive? If not connect your K-1 to your computer with a USB cable. Otherwise connect the USB/flash drive or card and in Windows Explorer right click on the drive and pick rename. Change the drive/volume name to S-SW140 and then you can run the file you downloaded from Ricoh.

If you are using Window 8.1 or 10 the update file complains it can't find a previous version but if you click OK - next - next - you can continue to install it without renaming a disk as above.
