MacBook Pro 2010 with Lightroom 5.7 problems

in the last few months my workhorse MacBook Pro 17" started to have some issues with Lightroom 5.7
all dark areas became dark blue, all bright areas become bright red
any idea why , can that be fixed?
laptop is still very good just this little problem...cheers

I don't use Lightroom but it looks like you activated a feature&function that shows underexposed (blue) and overexposed (red) area's. It can be really helpfull! You should be able to shut it off within Lightroom.

Edit: so your computer is fine!

As @Fries correctly states, you've somehow activated the over / under-exposure highlighting in Lightroom. You need to click on the two up-arrows at either ends of the histogram to de-select the highlighting. See attached

Oh, I wouldn't feel silly. That's nothing compared to some of the stuff I've pulled over the last year or two

Glad it's all working OK now...

To echo Mike's words above, don't feel silly! And if you still do, you are among friends. And if there was ever a friendly competition of silliness on this forum I am sure there are far more capable contenders than you. Thinking about the time I adopted the practice of pushing the lens release button whilst attaching a lens and wondering why the heck my autofocus was not working anymore...

And there was me thinking the issue had something to do with the date...
