Magnum & JMC,
How do you regard the 5300 aside from photo printing? I have an R1800 but the HP Stylewriter which has been used mostly for the kids' school work bit the dust, and cost an incredible amount of ink money for the amount of printing it got. So I really only need to replace a printer for B & W, and low cost for ink is the only criterion. I've been looking into the low end monochrome laser printer multifunction units, but if the 5300 would do the trick for printing out the ramping up of schoolwork (maybe 50 pages of text a week for the whole family, and most of it is rough drafts, and the most critical quality it would ever need is to be handed in for a high school paper) then I may go that way instead.
Any thoughts, either for or against any of the Kodak ink saving printers for this use?
Also, I don't have a handle on how their ESP line differentiates itself from the EasyShare line, so any help with that would be appreciated.
Also, anyone who uses a low end ($200) monochrome laser all-in-one as the second printer, for everything but the photo prints, I'd love to find out what your thought are.
Thanks immensely,
h
