On the Mac, I use "Preview". Just choose "Show Inspector" and it brings up all the metadata. If you're on Windows, I have no idea what to use.

FastStone does a lot (a lot!) of neat things and it is free.

FastStone Image Viewer, Screen Capture, Photo Resizer ...

Most photo processing software does this automatically.

Agree. It may depend on the OP's needs as to how complete the metadata readout is supposed to be. I recently noticed that Pentax's own (okay, rebranded) Digital Camera Utility 5 is pretty copious in its EXIF info. Another standalone freeware option for mere metadata viewing would be Exif Data Viewer.

Neat little tool, I must say. Thanks for pointing me to it.

If you are using windows then EXIFToolGui is very good its an adaptation of the command line based EXIFTool that Adam suggested. Being Gui based you can use your mouse. Its free, just google it. A plus for it is if your lens doesn't register with the camera (like one of my Sigma lens or a manual lens) you can edit the lens info in the metadata workspace section and write it to the EXIF Lens Model section. Unlike the other program mentioned the program reads and edits RAW files also. Did I mention.....Its Free!

PhotoMe is a stand alone exif reader I use in addition to those mentioned.

Looks pretty powerful and functionality-rich. Just replaced Exif Data Viewer with it (the former being nice enough for what it is, but PhotoMe takes it to another level). Thanks for the pointer indeed.

You are welcome. I use Exiftool when there is something that PhotoMe cannot do. It's the most powerful of the two. PhotoMe serves my needs 90-95% of the time, and I like it's GUI.
