98% has always been my optimum between filesize and quality.

With Adobe moving to the all-subscription plan, this was just the push I needed to finally set up a Linux (Xubuntu) partition to dual boot on my desktop. I'm posting from the machine I've run Windows 7 on for years, but now on Xubuntu. Plan is to keep it very light and fast, and I've installed Darktable, Rapid Photo Downloader, and DigiKam. Haven't had a chance to play with it much, but I'd used Darktable briefly in the summer on my kid's Linux laptop when we were on vacation and I needed some editing. There will be a learning curve, but it's good to stretch the old brain in new ways.
