C1 are moving too fast, and not looking after upgraders very well either.

It seems like they released C10 only a few months ago.

I think I want it...

Is there good support for the K-1?

What do you mean they are "not looking after upgraders very well"?

There is a grace period for those who just have bought C1 10; they can get C1 11 for free.

Also, C1 10 still works well. No need to upgrade, unless you are keen on any of the new features.

I'd agree that it is sad to see the upgrade price rising. I'm pretty sure it was just 99 EUR for C9 -> C10 and now they want 119 EUR. EDIT: Well, it is easy to get 10% off the 119 EUR with ambassador codes, but that was the case before as well.

I think I'll give this iteration a miss. There is no "must have" feature that has been added to C1 11, AFAIC.

PixelShift is not supported and I'm not overwhelmed with the camera profile they provide for the K-1.

However, you can create your own camera profile rather easily by using the excellent colour editor.

When I bought 10 my plan was to skip 11, but that Refine Mask is almost too tempting. If it works as well in reality as promoted, it itself might be worth the cost. Other new features doesn't mean that much to me.

I have no issues with the K-1 profile. My biggest complaint is they won't fix the exif bug where they shove the focal length in for the lens id. Maybe it is fixed in 11, but it is not listed as a fix.

The main reason I will probably upgrade is to hopefully keep or make paying Pentax users a big enough revenue stream to make Pentax support (adding pixel shift, adding more lens profiles, fixing pentax specific bugs, etc) worthwhile.

Not a "review" but a pretty good overview of the changes in C1 11.

Any clue what the cut off is?

I can do without 11 I think, but if there's a way that I can upgrade for free I wouldn't say no!

The cut-off day is 31 October 2017.

Too true. Looking at my account, I can see my C1 upgrade cost history has been 24.5 EUR to upgrade Express versions in 2013, then 69 EUR to go to v 8 Pro in 2014, then 89 EUR in 2016 to go from v8 directly to v10, skipping v9. Now just to upgrade one version step (v10 > v11) will cost 115 EUR! That's a lot of upgrade cost inflation over a mere 4 years.

v11 can wait. Plus they still don't tether Pentax, and continue to display only half-hearted support for Pentax camera features and lenses.

I honestly don't expect anyone to really support pixlshift. There will probably be support for the Sony version in the new A7R3 before we get it.

Is the profile for the K-1 at least better than the one in LR?

Did you try Alexander Titov profile for K-1? His profiles are usually much better then native ones, as for me.
Here it is.

No, I didn't know about this one. Thanks a lot!

I'll try it as soon as possible.

N.B., I've been using Scottie Wang's Fuji profiles. They weren't made for the K-1 and are not ideal, but they often work better than any other profile I've found so far.
