PIXLS.US - Darktable 3:RGB or Lab? Which Modules? Help! Can't read the whole thing now, but that is a very interesting article.
It sounds to me that a lot of modules need to be rewritten...
Edit: ok, some first impressions.
I don't do heavy editing but I like the basics to be right.
I like the direction that Darktable is going, but 3.0 still feels more like a beta product right now. As soon as I loaded a few too many modules, it seemed to crash my system. And it just seems quite a bit slower in general, especially when opening a different folder for editing - it takes forever to come up.
The results from the new filmicRGB seem very promising, and I finally played more with the color balance module. They all work fine, but I feel like I'm having to learn an all new software because the results are so different now, and a software that might still change quite a bit.
So, unless you need something specific from 3.0, I think I would stick with 2.7 for now. At least don't convert your database yet - try using it as a separate app first to see how you like it. But don't give up on Darktable, great things are coming up
