Kodachrome 64 "look"

Hi, have anyone tried to emulate the "look" of Kodachrome 64, by changing the camera JPEG settings, and if so, how successful and what settings or changes did they make?

I think it would be impossible to get anywhere close to a convincing Kodachrome 64 look just by tweaking jpeg settings. I've used the Kodachrome 64 emulation in Alien Skin Exposure now and then, and I've got a friend who applies it to just about every shot he takes, but even that is really only slightly Kodachrome-like.

My family asked me to take the projector along for a slideshow this Christmas for the first time in years, and the verdict was unanimous: the only thing that comes close to the magic of Kodachrome is Kodachrome.

What Dartmoor Dave said. I’ve used several presets, and done my own tweaks, but Kodachrome is the only thing that’s really looks like Kodachrome.

Thanks, if I can just get something close to those colors, I'll be very happy

Much easier to do in post processing of RAW than trying to tweak jpegs straight out of camera.

I do shoot RAW+, but with 13-hour workdays, 6 days a week, finding time for PP is limited. That's the reason I'm trying to find an alternative...

If you’re willing to shoot Raw, There is a preset for Rawtherapee that comes close to those colors.

If it's any help, here's a recent shot that I've just added Alien Skin Exposure Kodachrome 64 emulation to as a test:

Without Kodachrome emulation:

With Kodachrome emulation:

DXO Film Pack 5 essential has Kodachrome 64 emulation and they offer a 30 day trial. Film Pack 5 runs standalone and doesn't need PhotoLab to run so it may be an alternative to a lot of processing.

Kodachrome....
They give us those nice bright colours,
Give us the green of summer,
Make you think all the world's a sunny day (oh, yeah).
I got a N...

...that's enough of that!
