If you can provide model numbers that would be great!

I just took delivery of a LaCie 324.
So far, I am beyond impressed.
It was expensive, but I'll be using it for many, many years.
Make sure you know what kind of panel is in your choice of LCD before you buy it. Most cheaper monitors are TN panels, which are not as good for photo editing. They have a rather limited colour gamut, and generally only 6 bit colour.
The LaCie is a 10 bit S-PVA panel.

Mark knows more about this stuff than most people I've come across, and you will find a link to TFT Central, where you can enter the model number of a monitor into their database and it will tell you the make and type of panel being used.
