RAW made easier to view

As discovered on a site here is a valuable small free program its license to you so you dont really own it but its free and its great

InstantJPEGFromRaw

Just register it and a link is sent to your email address

HAve a go very easy and quick

eg 400 Raw in less than a minute

How it works is it takes to Jpeg image from the Raw quick n easy

This way you can see your images quicker instaed of PS everyone

From the article, it sounds like this utility extracts the thumbnail only as opposed to actually doing an actual RAW to JPEG conversion. The intent is to make it easier to preview a file contents outside of a tool such as Lightroom. Is this the case?

Or you could just get a mac. They display the thumbnail in the regular file browser (Finder for mac, equivalent of explorer on windows).

I have downloaded this program and it extract the same size as the Raw but its in jpeg form

It is available in either Mac or PC

As Cupic said, these are full sized jpgs with the option to get smaller versions (at least for the K10-D). I think it depends on the camera. If the camera will give same sized jpgs and raws then the jpgs are full sized. I think it also gives you the processed jpgs using your camera's jpg exposure settings. If this is ture it could be useful in lightroom to sort of give you a side by side view of processed jpg vs unprocessed raw file.

So does Vista, once you install the codec for PEF.
