They will if the test shows acceptable results for them.

So a rumor based on a poorly reported PetaPixel report.

Will not use a subscription service for software I use every day. Period. Word, Adobe, etc. can all.....well, you get the idea.

Ah well, that changes everything. Everyone in your feed repeating what Petapixel reported makes it a fact.

There are getting to be enough well-established competitors to Adobe that we have a number of viable options for processing software. There is no need to "rent" software until the end of eternity. I still am a "renter", but as each month goes by, I am getting closer to investing in an adobe competitor (or two).

Nothing to see here. The $9.99 plan still exists...
Looks like they brought back the 9.99 plan. Yesterday they had it at 19.99

As long as it stays $9.99, I'll continue subscribing. I read a similar article in The Verge a couple of days ago. It mentioned they were testing the price increase in certain markets. I'm hoping it got enough people mad that they decide against it.

I have a stand alone version of Lightroom 5.7 (and is the only reason I have a Win 7 partition), for me at least it might be time to put real work into learning Darktable, and Gimp for that matter

Monthly payments, no way, and double payments, not going to happen, they are not getting my money. If they did have stand alone versions I may be interested.

News like this makes me feel vindicated for my recent decision to drop Adobe and go with On1 Photo Raw 2019. It gives me way more than Lightroom and close to Photoshop. After three weeks I very pleased with my decision.

Just to be clear, I do use Lightroom 6, the last free standing version. With my K-1 II I shoot with DNG files and use Huelight Camera Profiles, which I actually like better than the Adobe ones. My experience is that at least a couple of the Adobe profiles (Bright, Landscape) on my K-1 produce odd colors that I don't like.

Regardless, for me it is a hobby and I am not interested in paying 120 dollars every year ad nauseum to continue using it. On the other hand, I do like the software and so will keep using it along with Elements 12. Those seem enough for my needs.

It looks as though Adobe is going to have a Lightroom only plan for 9.99, but for Lightroom plus Photoshop they will be charging 19.99.

(see this article with attached update at the top: Adobe Is ?Testing? Doubling The Price Of Its Photography Plan )

For the nay sayers, see screen below. I do hope they saw a tsunami of negative comments and backed off the idea.
