New software for pixel shift file conversion

Found this on another web site mentioning it for use with Sony files, but it now also supports Pentax K1 files. Currently in beta (free time locked download) - PixelShift2DNG. Go to the fastrawviewer web site and click on the top selection titled Our Products and click on the link in the box for PixelShift2DNG

Nice! And the prices of the other products look pretty resonable, so this one may be priced in the same range.

Is there something about this that's better than what LR is doing?

RawTherapee seems to support much more advanced pixel shift processing e.g., motion masking etc. And it's free. It'd be interesting to see what this program does, but I can't see the benefit of paying for it when they take away the free option.

Silkypix handles pixel shift just fine. Of course they make PDCU as well.

Only for K1 and K3? Not for KP?
LE Sorry, now I have entered the link and Kp appears.

LR does not support images that involve any kind of motion.

I don't know what PixelShift2DNG's capabilities are but RawThereappee has extensive support for avoiding artefacts that are introduced by any motion occurring while the four PixelShift captures are made. The Pentax-supplied DCU software also handles motion.

LR should be avoided for PixelShift images unless there really is not the least amount of motion in the scene.

Can't see the point in this: you convert the files to DNG, but the K1 (II) can already shoot DNG?
