Photoshop Elements 2020 - Anyone using it?

I have been using versions of PSE for many years and was ok with it until the Places function was disabled a couple of years ago (Google Maps v Adobe?) but I continued with it despite . Now I'm told PSE 2020 has restored the Places function plus added stuff I don't really care about or appreciate - at the moment. The upgrade is pretty cheap and if Places really has been restored to match its previous capability (albeit not using Google Maps) I'm tempted. Does anyone already use PSE 2020? Can you comment on how well Places works? What about Plugins? I use Nik Collection (a lot) and Franzis (a little) with PSE. Are they as easy to use with PSE 2020 as with earlier versions? I'd be grateful for any feedback on PSE2020. Thanks.

I had no idea they still did PSE. With the great deals on offer for PS + LR for 9.99 £/$ per month why not go there instead

PF member @Fenwoodian posted recently that they have been testing the trial version of PSE 2020. With any luck they will drop in with their insight.

I just ordered it, discounted on Amazon. Ill let you know if I like it. I live in a rural area with marginal internet speed, so I try to avoid cloud based software as much as possible.

I've used PSE for years. I have been using PSE 2020 now for a few months. Not worth the upgrade. The "AI" they advertise is pretty lame, and of course the PSE 2020 version of Adobe Camera RAW still has reduced features/capabilities and is not as good as the version you get with PS CC. Also, PSE 2020 still will only do serious layers work on 8 bit files.

I can not comment on PSE 2020 and Places function as I don't use that feature.

While I still use PSE 2020 for my quick and fast jpgs I post to the Internet; for my serious work, I now have a new workflow - RAW DNGs developed in Corel Aftershot Pro 3 (terrific RAW capabilities) and then to Affinity Photo for further refinement. I have Luminar 4, NIK Collection and Topaz software installed as plugins in Affinity Photo. These plugins work fine in Affinity Photo, just like they do in PSE 2020.

In hindsight, I wish that I did not waste my money and upgrade to PSE2020. No improvements that were meaningful to me at all.

While I still do have Adobe PhotoShop, Lightroom, RAW Therapee and many other image editing softwares on my computer, I prefer using the combination of Aftershot and Affinity Photo (with Luminar4, NIK, Topaz) to any of these other programs. Finally, if I need to enlarge a file, I have a standalone version of Topaz Gigapixel AI that I use.

No, I have never used Capture One.
